Bilstein B16 ridecontrol® coilover kit for the Volkswagen Beetle & Scirocco — a height-adjustable coilover system that replaces the factory struts and springs outright, so ride height, stance and body control are set to the millimetre.

Bilstein has built monotube dampers in Ennepetal since the 1950s, and the gas-pressure principle is what keeps the oil from foaming when a rough road works the damper hard.
